Revd Dr Gareth Leyshon - Personal Page Gareth's personal pages

I am currently assigned as a priest in the Pontypridd Deanery, resident at St Dyfrig's Church in Treforest, following my ordination to the priesthood on May 5th, 2007.

My current chaplaincy responsibilities include:

I am also chair of the Cardiff Archdiocesan Service Team for the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in Wales.

Churches in Pontypridd are involved in the "PONT" link with Mbale, Uganda.

In February 2009, I was invited to conduct a wedding in Nigeria on Valentine's Day. I blogged here on the Chaplaincy, and the University of Glamorgan's international office ran the story too.

On September 8th, 2009, my grandmother, Millie Leyshon, passed away. May she rest in peace.

In September 1999, I entered St John's Seminary, sponsored by the Archdiocese of Cardiff to train for the Roman Catholic Priesthood. Prior to entering seminary, I spent four years researching dust in distant galaxies, obtaining a PhD in Astrophysics from Cardiff University.

Originally, I come from Llanelli, where I lived until entering Oxford University in 1991, studying Physics at Keble College.
